It's the most wonderful time of the yeaaaaar….VIB sale time at Sephora, baby! Starting tomorrow and lasting through Monday, VIB members (in Canada and the US) can get 20 per cent off online and in stores!
Not a VIB? You're in luck. I'm told the one-time online discount code is VIBTOPIA, so go to town!
If you're like me, the decision of what to get can get a little stressful, so I thought I'd help a friend out by providing my top picks. Here we go:
1) Laura Mercier Artist's Palette for Eyes ($C60)
I was so excited about this product that I couldn't wait for the VIB sale—I was paranoid about it selling out (too many stressful experiences with MAC collections!). I saw Karen's review, and I was absolutely, positively sold. This is gorgeous. I haven't used it much, but so far, it's beautiful, soft, and wonderful (full review coming soon).
2) Make Up For Ever 126 Medium Powder Brush (C$63)
I received this piece of loveliness just recently from a lovely PR at MUFE. A full review is coming soon, but it's so fabulous I knew I needed to let you know in time for the sale. It's incredibly soft and dense, and it does a wonderful job of applying powder. As an added bonus, the design is awesome. The wood handle is sleek and chic, and I love brushes with dark bristles—they give me a better idea of how much product I've picked up. It's a leeeetle steep at full price—but 20 per cent off will make a big difference. You should try it. It's the responsible thing to do.
3) Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder (C$52)
I broke down and bought this a month or so ago, and, my friends, I was skeptical. I have some bigger pores on and around my nose, and I had my doubts about any product's ability to blur them. But I'm sold. I have Dim Light, and it's Photoshop in a compact. Applied over my setting powder, it does an amazing job of brightening my skin subtly—you don't always want the full-on shimmer of a highlighter, right?
4) Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder (C$26)
This stuff is fab. It's designed to go under your eyes, and it does an amazing job of setting under eye concealer, prolonging the wear and keeping it from creasing. This powder does all this without looking dry or cakey, and while providing just a bit of brightness. It's loose and very finely milled. I recommend swirling a brush like the MAC 217 (clean, of course) in the lid (that is, where the "leftover" product resides) and using that. You don't need much.
5) Benefit Rockateur (C$36)
I tried this blush on Sunday during a makeover at Sephora, and as much as I'm not crazy about the cardboard packaging, it's beautiful. It reminds me of NARS Orgasm, but a little pinker, and with much finer shimmer. Benefit calls it rose gold, and it comes with a cute little brush!
Those are my picks! What are yours? Still making up your mind? Let me know in the comments!
