MAC Eyeshadow in Eat, Love (Indulge Collection): Review and Photos

MAC Eyeshadow in Eat, Love from the Indulge Collection.

I didn't plan on purchasing anything from MAC's new Indulge collection—nothing really spoke to me in the promotional photographs. But then an artist at the MAC Pro Store put this on at an Indulge Collection launch event—and I was captured.

I'd describe the colour as a black-green with a bit of very fine sparkle. It's a satin finish, which means it's not matte, but not too frosty—one of my favourite MAC finishes.

Pigmentation and texture are both very good, though not as stellar as some of MAC's best shadows. Still easy to apply and blend. And like all MAC shadows I've tried (and I've tried a lot), wear time is phenomenal. Love it!

MAC Eyeshadow in Eat, Love is a deep, blackened green. It contains a small amount of fine sparkle, which is unusual for a satin finish.

I take no credit for this look! A lovely artist from the MAC Pro Store on Robson did it for me. If I remember correctly, 'm wearing Deliciously Rich (Fluidline) and Guilty Morsel (eyeshadow) all over the lid, and Eat, Love in the outer half of the lid and underneath my eye. I also have a brown pencil (sorry, I don't know the name) on my lower waterline. The look is finished with black mascara (both Clinique High Impact, which I wore into the store, and MAC Extended Play Gigablack, which the artist added).

Same look, different angle. Very dramatic. Thanks, Sam!

Comparison swatches, left to right (all shadows are MAC): Eat, Love, When In Rio, and Plumage. My only disappointment with Eat, Love is how similar it is to these other two colours.

Would I repurchase? Probably not—in addition to the fact that it's limited edition, Eat, Love is more of a fun, one-time purchase than a staple for me.

Rating: Four and a half stars out of five.

Available: Eat, Love is part of the limited Indulge Collection. It's currently sold out on Maccosmetics.com, but you can try anywhere else MAC Cosmetics are sold. I was able to purchase it in-store on Saturday for $18 Canadian.
