I have a weakness for brown eyeshadows. They look good on everyone and with almost anything, they're great for work, AND you can jazz them up for a smoky, nighttime look. I always seem to stumble across a brown that's just a leeetle different than one I have…and somehow I end up at the cash register with it. Just this morning I counted 30 different shades in my stash. Oops!
Today I want to show you two of my favourite browns—Woodwinked and Mulch, both part of MAC's permanent collection. Woodwinked is a light, shimmery golden-brown, and Mulch is a medium, shimmery copper-brown. They're great alone, but together, they're magic.
Have a look:
In the above look, I started with MAC Painterly Paint Pot as a base, then swept Woodwinked all over my lid, up to the crease. I added Mulch in the crease and outer corner, tight lined with Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper, and then applied and blended MAC Eye Kohl in Costa Riche on my upper and lower lash lines and waterlines. I finished the look with lots of black mascara.
These two shades are definitely among MAC's best, in my opinion. In addition to being beautiful and versatile, they're soft and pigmented, and they blend and last well. I've been reaching for Woodwinked all week for a quick work look!
The verdict: They've become favourites. I'll definitely repurchase when I run out (and I know I will!).
Rating: Five stars out of five for both. No complaints here!
Available: MAC Woodwinked and Mulch eyeshadows are available anywhere MAC cosmetics are sold, including MAC counters, Nordstrom, and maccosmetics.com. Pro refill pans go for $12 Canadian, and the pots go for $18 Canadian.
Have you tried MAC Woodwinked or Mulch eyeshadows? What did you pair them with?
