My Guest Post on Beauty Infinitum: How to Wear Orange When You Can't Wear Orange

A face of the day featuring three orange products: NARS Dual-Intensity Blush in Panic (on the eyes), Sleek Blush in Icing Sugar, and CHANEL Gossimer for Lips in Amour.

This month, thanks to the Canadian Beauty Bloggers Network, I had the opportunity to write a guest post for Stephanie over at beauty infinitum. The theme was orange, which was a stretch for me because I don't typically wear it. I have a lot of pink in my skin, so orange isn't the most flattering colour. Rather than going for a nail post—the easier option—I decided to get creative and create a post for girls like me who typically can't wear orange. This is what I came up with!  What do you think?

Head on over to beauty infinitum for the full post!

CHANEL Levres Scintillantes Gossimer for Lips in Amour 166: Quick Review

CHANEL LÈVRES SCINTILLANTES GLOSSIMER in Amour.

I think we can all agree that CHANEL cosmetics are horridly, heartbreakingly overpriced. But when you get your paws on a piece of the collection...it's glorious. Aside from the ridiculousness of spending $40 on something like a lip gloss, I mean.

I picked up this little (emphasis on the little) beauty on something called Giving Day at Hudson's Bay. Tickets were $5, which was donated to charity, and a lot of the cosmetic counters offered special gifts with purchase in addition to 10 per cent off. Wahoo!

The above lip gloss, which CHANEL calls Gossimer for Lips, was one such gift. Called Amour, it's a vibrant coral with gold micro-glitter. It's sheer, VERY shiny, not too sticky, longwearing, and simply lovely. Almost lovely enough to want to buy one at full price (about $35 plus taxes for a full-sized tube). Almost.

Are CHANEL makeup products worth the splurge for you? Which are your favourites?
